I used this mount with the Garmin eTrex Venture HC, the back cover fits securely onto the unit, although you will notice it is slightly narrower than the original cover. One thing you have to be aware of is that the tab on the back cover clicks into place once you slide it onto the handlebar mount. The handlebar attachment comes with two rubber pieces I used the thinner one due to the thickness of my handlebars but the larger piece will accommodate a thinner handlebar. I noticed another reviewer mentioned it did not hold the gps in place. I took it out last night on a rough downhill trail and the gps stayed in place. If you have the eTrex Venture HC this is the mount you need.
Unfortunately, like many others, I did not read the reviews here before ordering this bicycle mount for my Garmin Vista eTrex HCx. The battery cover for the Garmin eTrex models that use a micro SD memeory card is shaped differently, and this mount does not fit. I notified Amazon and I hope they update their information.
This product was everything I expected and wanted it to be. It holds my GPS securely on my bike. The mount was easy to install on the bike and once you get the hang of matching the notches on the back of the GPS (actually the new bike mount battery cover) to the notches on the mount, the GPS slips on and off easily.
Doesn't feet Vista HCx. I had no idea that Garmin Vista's are not the same size - no information anywhere. Garmin support doesn't answer emails.
So here I am seeing all of these reviews saying "OMG IT DOESN'T WORK WITH MY CX MODEL.1111one", so I just had to write this.It works perfectly fine with a Cx model, as long as you have the mental capacity to read the instructions that come with your GPS. In so far as I know all of the HC and HCx models came with a small clip that screwed in to the back of the included back cover. The instructions said (paraphrasing) "Keep this, as you will need it for mounting brackets."Seeing as I actually listened to that, and affixed that clip to the back of my Vista HCx, I find it works perfectly. The mounting itself is very stable, although it can require a little extra padding between the bracket and your handlebars, depending on the size of your handle bars. This can be as easy as part of an old inner tube, some spare grip tape, even duct tape will work.My GPS is pretty much always on my bike (other than when I'm out Geocaching), and this bracket has never failed me, despite rough terrain, drops, jumps, and even the occasional eating dirt.It positions such that it is very easy to see, and easy to access the buttons while riding.
